Privacy Policy
Welcome to Major Motion LLC. By booking a vehicle or using our website, you agree to the following Privacy Policy.
About this policy
Major Motion LLC ("Major Motion," "we," "us," or "our"), based in Brooklyn, New York, explains in this Privacy Policy how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information in connection with our website, inquiries, reservations, and vehicle rentals.
This policy describes our information practices. It does not replace any separate consent required for a particular activity.
Information we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we collect:
Contact information: name, email address, telephone number, and mailing or billing address.
Driver and identification information: date of birth, driver's license details, and identification documents needed to verify rental eligibility.
Reservation and rental information: dates, vehicle selection, authorized drivers, pickup and return details, mileage, fuel level, and rental history.
Payment information: billing details and information needed to process payments, refunds, and lawful authorizations through our payment providers.
Support and incident information: messages you send us, vehicle-condition photos, accident or damage reports, and relevant insurance or claim information.
Technical information: IP address, browser and device information, access times, and website activity recorded in ordinary server logs or essential cookies.
We receive information directly from you, from your use of our website and rental services, and from relevant booking or payment providers, authorized drivers, insurers, toll operators, and authorities when necessary to administer your rental or address an incident. Only the categories relevant to your interaction are collected.
How we use information
We use personal information to respond to questions; verify identity and driver eligibility; manage reservations and rental agreements; process payments and refunds; communicate about pickup, returns, and service changes; document vehicle condition; handle tolls, claims, and disputes; maintain website security; prevent fraud; and meet legal, insurance, tax, and recordkeeping obligations.
We limit sensitive information, such as driver's license details, to purposes connected with verification, rental administration, fraud prevention, claims, or legal obligations. We do not use it for advertising.
How we disclose information
We disclose relevant information to service providers that help operate our business, including website hosting, booking systems, payment processing, document storage, customer communications, and professional support. Providers acting on our behalf may use information only as needed for their services and as permitted by law.
Where necessary, we also disclose information to insurers, claims administrators, roadside or repair providers, toll operators, and public authorities to administer a rental, address an incident, process a lawful charge, or comply with a legal obligation. We may disclose information to legal or professional advisers, in response to valid legal process, or where reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, and security.
If our business is involved in a merger, sale, or reorganization, relevant information may be transferred subject to applicable privacy requirements and appropriate confidentiality protections.
We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not give customer contact information to unrelated businesses for their own direct marketing.
Cookies and website tracking
We use essential cookies or similar technologies to support website operation, security, and reservation functions. We do not currently use advertising pixels, cross-site advertising trackers, or nonessential analytics cookies.
You can manage cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may prevent some website or booking features from working. Our website does not change its behavior in response to the older "Do Not Track" browser setting. We honor legally required privacy preference signals where applicable.
If our tracking practices change, we will update this policy and provide any notices, choices, or consent requests required before the new processing begins.
Vehicle information and connected devices
We record vehicle condition, odometer readings, fuel or battery level, and pickup and return information as part of administering rentals. Major Motion LLC does not currently access live vehicle location or telematics information.
If you pair a phone or use a vehicle's infotainment system, the vehicle may store contacts, destinations, call information, or device details. Disconnect your device and delete stored personal information before returning the vehicle. Vehicle manufacturers and services you independently activate may process information under their own privacy notices.
Communications and marketing choices
We use your contact information for reservation confirmations, rental updates, receipts, and customer support. Promotional emails are sent only where permitted by law, and each includes a way to unsubscribe. You may also contact us to stop promotional emails. Essential rental and transaction messages may continue.
We do not enroll you in an automated marketing text program simply because you provide a telephone number or rent a vehicle. Any future marketing text program will use a separate consent process and provide applicable terms and opt-out instructions.
Retention and security
We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described here, including applicable rental, insurance, tax, legal, and dispute-resolution requirements. Retention depends on the record type, any mandatory retention period, and whether a claim or legal hold remains active. Identity documents and technical logs are kept no longer than needed for their purpose or applicable requirements. Information no longer needed is securely deleted or de-identified where appropriate.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the information we handle. No transmission or storage method is completely secure. Please do not send full payment-card details or identification documents through an unsecured message; contact us for the appropriate submission method.
Your requests and choices
You may contact us to ask about your personal information, request access or correction, or request deletion. Depending on your residence and the laws applicable to our business, you may have additional rights, including rights concerning copies of your data, certain processing, consent withdrawal, or an appeal of a denied request.
We verify requests as reasonably necessary and respond within applicable legal time limits. We may need to retain information for transactions, claims, legal obligations, or other permitted reasons. If we cannot fulfill a request, we will explain the reason and any available appeal process. We do not unlawfully discriminate against people for exercising applicable privacy rights.
Declining information needed to verify eligibility or complete a rental may prevent us from providing that service.
Children, external services, and processing location
Our rental services are intended for adults age 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has provided information so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
External websites and services you choose to use have their own privacy practices. Review their notices before providing information. We operate in the United States, and information is processed here and in locations where our service providers operate, subject to applicable legal requirements.
